  2         An act relating to the City of Anna Maria

  3         Island; amending chapter 30561 (1955), Laws of

  4         Florida, as amended; providing for inclusion of

  5         naturally or artificially accreted lands into

  6         the corporate boundaries of the City of Anna

  7         Maria Island; providing for liberal

  8         construction; providing severability; providing

  9         an effective date.

11  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12

13         Section 1.  Section 6 of chapter 30561 (1955), Laws of

14  Florida, as amended, is amended to read:

15

16                            ARTICLE I

17                        GENERAL PROVISIONS

18

19         Section 6.  The boundaries of the area which shall be

20  included in the territory of the City of Anna Maria Island,

21  also known as the City of Anna Maria, in Manatee County,

22  Florida, shall be as follows:

23

24         All of that land comprising Anna Maria Island

25         embraced in US Lot 1 in Section 7; Lots 1, 2,

26         3, 4 and 5 in Section 18; and Lots 2, 3, and 4

27         in Section 17; all being in Township 34 South,

28         Range 16 East; along with all that land

29         comprising Anna Maria Island embraced in

30         Section 12, Township 34 South, Range 15 East;

31         along with all lands which have either been

  1         artificially added or naturally accreted to

  2         these described lands, all being within Manatee

  3         County, Florida. All lands on Anna Maria Key in

  4         Manatee County, Florida.

  6  Provided, however, that the said City shall have the power to

  7  change its boundaries in the manner hereinafter or as

  8  otherwise by the laws of the State of Florida provided.

  9         Section 2.  This act shall be construed as remedial and

10  shall be liberally construed to promote the purpose for which

11  it is intended.

12         Section 3.  In the event that any part of this act

13  should be held void for any reason, such holding shall not

14  affect any other part thereof.

15         Section 4.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

16  law.
