  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the judiciary; amending s.

  3         35.06, F.S.; increasing the number of judges in

  4         specified district courts of appeal; providing

  5         an effective date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8  

  9         Section 1.  Subsections (2) and (4) of section 35.06,

10  Florida Statutes, are amended to read:

11         35.06  Organization of district courts of appeal.--A

12  district court of appeal shall be organized in each of the

13  five appellate districts to be named District Court of Appeal,

14  .... District.  The number of judges of each district court of

15  appeal shall be as follows:

16         (2)  In the second district there shall be 15 14

17  judges.

18         (4)  In the fourth district there shall be 13 12

19  judges.

20         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

21  law, provided that the term of any office created by this act

22  shall commence on January 7, 2003.
