  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to foreign students; requiring

  3         each school in this state to report to the

  4         Florida Department of Law Enforcement verified

  5         visa information concerning certain foreign

  6         students who attend the school; providing an

  7         effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Schools must submit verified visa

12  information to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.--

13         (1)  As used in this section, the term "school" means

14  any public or private educational institution, career

15  educational institution, or association, corporation, person,

16  partnership, or organization providing education.

17         (2)  Each school in this state shall submit to the

18  Florida Department of Law Enforcement verified visa

19  information for each foreign student who is 18 years of age or

20  older and attends the school.

21         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2002.
