11  The Council for Ready Infrastructure offered the following:

14         On page 1, lines 12 through 20,

15  remove:  all of said lines

17  and insert:

18         Section 1.  The Department of Highway Safety and Motor

19  Vehicles shall collect data concerning motor vehicle accidents

20  involving driver distraction beginning January 1, 2002. The

21  department shall report such data accompanied by a report

22  analyzing the data collected and the impact of driver

23  distraction on crashes. The data and report are to be

24  presented to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of

25  the House of Representatives by February 28, 2003.
