  1                    Senate Resolution No. ____

  2         A resolution commending the Clay County Junior

  3         Election Board.

  4

  5         WHEREAS, the Clay County Junior Election Board,

  6  (J.E.B.) located in Clay County Florida, has been in existence

  7  since June 15, 1997, and

  8         WHEREAS, the Clay County Junior Election Board exists

  9  for the purpose of assisting the Supervisor of Elections in

10  educating the public in the electoral process, and

11         WHEREAS, the Clay County Junior Election Board has

12  helped throughout the community by volunteering in several

13  capacities, and

14         WHEREAS, the Clay County Junior Election Board members

15  have worked diligently to become better citizens and to

16  communicate the importance of the idea that every vote counts,

17  and

18         WHEREAS, the Clay County Junior Election Board is the

19  first of its kind in the State of Florida, NOW, THEREFORE,

20

21  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

22

23         That the Florida Senate recognizes March 7, 2002, as

24  Clay County Junior Election Board Day.

25         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,

26  with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the Clay

27  County Junior Election Board as a tangible token of the

28  sentiments of the Florida Senate.
