15         On page 92, between lines 3 and 4,

17  insert:

18         Section 31.  In order to implement specific

19  appropriations 2195-2202 of the 2002-2003 General

20  Appropriations Act, subsection (3) and paragraph (a) of

21  subsection (5) of section 443.111, Florida Statutes, are

22  amended to read:

23         443.111  Payment of benefits.--

24         (3)  WEEKLY BENEFIT AMOUNT.--

25         (a)  An individual's "weekly benefit amount" is shall

26  be an amount equal to one twenty-sixth of the total wages for

27  insured work paid during that quarter of the base period in

28  which such total wages paid were the highest, but not less

29  than $32 or more than $275. This amount may also be cited as

30  the "base benefit amount."

31         (b)  For fiscal year 2002-2003 only, claims with

  1  benefit years beginning October 1, 2002, through June 30,

  2  2004, the weekly benefit amount is increased by an amount

  3  equal to $25 or 15 January 1, 2000, through December 31, 2000,

  4  an additional 5 percent of the base weekly benefit amount

  5  shall be added for each compensable week the first 8

  6  compensable weeks of benefits paid, not to exceed $316 $288.

  7  This paragraph expires July 1, 2003.

  8         (c)  The Such weekly benefit amount, if not a multiple

  9  of $1, is shall be rounded downward to the nearest full dollar

10  amount. The maximum weekly benefit amount in effect at the

11  time the claimant establishes an individual weekly benefit

12  amount is shall be the maximum benefit amount applicable

13  throughout the claimant's benefit year.

14         (5)  DURATION OF BENEFITS.--

15         (a)1.  Any otherwise eligible individual shall be

16  entitled during any benefit year to a total amount of benefits

17  equal to 25 percent of the total wages in the base period, not

18  to exceed $7,150. This amount may be cited as the "base amount

19  of benefits."

20         2.  For fiscal year 2002-2003 only, claims with benefit

21  years beginning October 1, 2002, through June 30, 2004, the

22  total amount of benefits is increased by January 1, 2000,

23  through December 31, 2000, an additional amount equal to $25

24  or 15 5 percent of the base weekly benefit amount, whichever

25  is greater, multiplied by the individual's number of benefit

26  weeks 8 shall be added to the calculated total amount of

27  benefits, the sum of which may not to exceed $8,216 $7,254.

28  For purposes of this subparagraph, an individual's number of

29  benefit weeks is calculated by dividing the individual's base

30  amount of benefits in subparagraph 1. by the individual's base

  1  weeks shall be computed to the third decimal place and rounded

  2  to the second decimal place. The However, such total amount of

  3  benefits, if not a multiple of $1, is shall be rounded

  4  downward to the nearest full dollar amount. These Such

  5  benefits are shall be payable at a weekly rate no greater than

  6  the weekly benefit amount. This subparagraph expires July 1,

  7  2003.

  8         4.2.  For the purposes of this subsection, wages shall

  9  be counted as "wages for insured work" for benefit purposes

10  with respect to any benefit year only if such benefit year

11  begins subsequent to the date on which the employing unit by

12  whom such wages were paid has satisfied the conditions of this

13  chapter with respect to becoming an employer.
