  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to special assessments;

  3         creating ss. 125.0168 and 166.223, F.S.;

  4         providing for the method for the levy of

  5         special assessments by counties and

  6         municipalities on recreational vehicle parks;

  7         providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Section 125.0168, Florida Statutes, is

12  created to read:

13         125.0168  Special assessments levied on recreational

14  vehicle parks regulated under chapter 513.--When a county

15  levies a special assessment on a recreational vehicle park

16  regulated under chapter 513, the special assessment shall not

17  be based on the assertion that the recreational vehicle park

18  is comprised of residential units. Instead, recreational

19  vehicle parks regulated under chapter 513 shall be assessed in

20  the same manner as a hotel, motel, or other similar facility.

21         Section 2.  Section 166.223, Florida Statutes, is

22  created to read:

23         166.223  Special assessments levied on recreational

24  vehicle parks regulated under chapter 513.--When a

25  municipality levies a special assessment on a recreational

26  vehicle park regulated under chapter 513, the special

27  assessment shall not be based on the assertion that the

28  recreational vehicle park is comprised of residential units.

29  Instead, recreational vehicle parks regulated under chapter

30  513 shall be assessed in the same manner as a hotel, motel, or

31  other similar facility.
