  1                   Senate Resolution No. _____

  2         A resolution recognizing the week of June 2-8,

  3         2002, as "Chamber of Commerce Week" in Florida.

  4

  5         WHEREAS, there are chambers of commerce located

  6  throughout the communities of Florida, representing small and

  7  large businesses in operation in the state, and

  8         WHEREAS, in addition to promoting the business, civic,

  9  and economic interests of the regions in which they serve,

10  chambers of commerce provide input to leaders of all levels of

11  government on various issues of critical concern to area

12  residents, and

13         WHEREAS, today's chambers of commerce are also

14  vigorously leading their communities in advancing technology,

15  establishing a clear vision, and solving tough problems, and

16         WHEREAS, volunteers give unselfishly of their time,

17  energy, and expertise in advancing the purposes of the local

18  chambers of commerce and in meeting the goals of their annual

19  programs, NOW, THEREFORE,

21  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

22

23         That the Senate pauses in its deliberations to

24  recognize the merits of the chambers of commerce of the state

25  and to express its sincere appreciation for the steadfast

26  efforts of all those involved in their area organizations.

27         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Senate celebrates the

28  week of June 2-8, 2002, as "Chamber of Commerce Week" in

29  Florida.
