  1                    Senate Resolution No. ____

  2         A resolution honoring the Greater Naples Braves

  3         for winning the girls 13-14 year old Junior

  4         League Softball 2001 World Series.

  5

  6         WHEREAS, each year there is a Junior League Softball

  7  World Series to determine the best team in the league which

  8  was held in Kirkland, Washington in 2001, and

  9         WHEREAS, the Greater Naples Braves team was a perfect

10  4-0 in the tournament and outscored the three teams it played

11  by a combined score of 35-1, and

12         WHEREAS, Braves coach Robert Iamurri said that "This

13  was a special group of girls we knew from when they were 10

14  years old and when they were state champions that one day they

15  were going to be world champions," and

16         WHEREAS, teammates Kristine Bayer, Stephanie Bayer,

17  Brittany Boltz, Hayley Cole, Ashley Delk, Amanda Francis,

18  Cheyenne Jenks, Lauren Jones, Meredith Morris, Tash Sciallis,

19  Heidi Schumacher, Jessica Woodring, and Kara Weigle together

20  with assistant coaches Steve Weigle and Mike Morris and coach

21  Robert Iamurri are deserving of the highest praise for the

22  honor they brought to this state by winning the Junior League

23  Softball 2001 World Series, NOW, THEREFORE,

25  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

26

27         That the Florida Senate commends the Greater Naples

28  Braves for the honor they brought to this state by winning the

29  Junior League Softball 2001 World Series and expresses its

30  sincere admiration for the talent and dedication of the

31  players and the perseverance of the coaches.

  1         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,

  2  with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the
