2 A resolution recognizing the Joint
3 Communications Support Element Veterans'
4 Association Veterans' Appreciation Reunion.

6 WHEREAS, MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa is recognized
7 as the home base of the Joint Communications Support Element,
8 formerly the Communications Support Element, and the 290th
9 Joint Communications Support Squadron, Florida National Guard,
10 and operational headquarters of the 224th Joint Communications
11 Support Squadron, Georgia National Guard, and
12 WHEREAS, veterans of these units have joined together
13 to form the Joint Communications Support Element Veterans'
14 Association with the express purpose of providing support to
15 current and former members of these units and their families
16 and preserving the contribution of current and former members
17 of these units, and
18 WHEREAS, the association actively promotes the
19 recognition of the men and women serving this great nation and
20 the sacrifices they must make to ensure that we, the people,
21 can enjoy the peace and tranquility promised to all, and
22 WHEREAS, the 40th anniversary of the Joint
23 Communications Support Element will be observed during the
24 association's biennial reunion, NOW, THEREFORE,
25
26 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
27
28 That the Florida Senate expresses its appreciation for
29 the dedication that current and former members of the Joint
30 Communications Support Element have displayed as residents of
31 our communities.

1 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the period June 12th
2 through June 16th, 2002, is recognized as the Joint
3 Communications Support Element Veterans Association Veterans'
4 Appreciation Reunion and that this Senate, on behalf of all
5 Floridians, acknowledges the contributions by these veterans
6 in the defense of our nation.
