  1                    Senate Resolution No. ____

  2         A resolution commending the North Florida

  3         Christian High School football team for its

  4         2001 season.

  6         WHEREAS, the North Florida Christian High School

  7  football team finished the 2001 season with a 12-2 win-loss

  8  record, and

  9         WHEREAS, the North Florida Christian High School

10  football team won its district championship with a 6-0

11  win-loss record and won the regional championship by

12  outscoring opponents in three consecutive games by a combined

13  score of 91 to 27, and

14         WHEREAS, the North Florida Christian High School

15  football team defeated the southern champion, Ft. Meade, for

16  the third consecutive year, to win the State Class A football

17  championship, and

18         WHEREAS, The North Florida Christian High School

19  football team is the first team in state Class A history to

20  win four consecutive state championships, and

21         WHEREAS, the North Florida Christian High School

22  football team is the second team in all class categories to

23  win four consecutive state championships, and

24         WHEREAS, the North Florida Christian High School

25  football team is the first team in this state to win 20

26  consecutive playoff games, and

27         WHEREAS, the North Florida Christian High School

28  football team has played in the Class A state championship

29  game in 6 of the last 7 years, and has won 5 of the last 6

30  class A state championships, and

  1         WHEREAS, the North Florida Christian High School

  2  football team has brought honor and recognition to the North

  3  Florida Christian School, Tallahassee, and Leon County, NOW,

  4  THEREFORE,

  6  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

  8         That the North Florida Christian High School football

  9  team, Head Coach Tim Cokely, and the coaching staff are

10  commended for their outstanding accomplishments in bringing

11  the North Florida Christian School to prominence and

12  excellence in high school football.

13         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,

14  with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to the North

15  Florida Christian High School football team and to Coach Tim

16  Cokely as a tangible token of the sentiments of the Florida

17  Senate.
