2 A resolution recognizing Garrett Hines, winner
3 of a Silver Medal in the Men's Four Man Bobsled
4 event at the 19th Olympic Winter Games in Salt
5 Lake City.

7 WHEREAS, Garrett Hines, an esteemed resident of Central
8 Florida and a 2002 Winter Olympic Bobsled Silver Medalist, has
9 achieved national recognition, and
10 WHEREAS, Garrett Hines has represented the United
11 States in his second Olympics, and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Hines continues to serve his nation not
13 only by representing the United States in his sport but
14 through his service in the U.S. Army Reserves, where he was
15 recognized as the 1998 Armed Forces Athlete of the Year, and
16 WHEREAS, the success of the State of Florida, the
17 strength of our communities, and the overall vitality of
18 American society is dependent, in great measure, upon the
19 dedication of people like Mr. Hines who use their considerable
20 talents to serve our nation and represent our state, NOW,
21 THEREFORE,

23 Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:

25 That the Florida Senate congratulates and honors Mr.
26 Hines as a winner of a silver medal in the 2002 Winter
27 Olympics held in Salt Lake City, Utah, and extends its best
28 wishes for his continued success.
29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution,
30 with the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Garrett
