  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to funding for community

  3         colleges; expressing legislative intent to

  4         enact a funding formula; providing an effective

  5         date.

  7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  8

  9         Section 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to

10  enact into statutory law the funding formula used in the year

11  2001 to distribute funds to the community college system in

12  this state. It is the further intent of the Legislature to

13  address issues relating to the funding formulas applicable to

14  workforce development conducted by community colleges.

15         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2002.

18                          SENATE SUMMARY

19    Expresses legislative intent to enact by statute the 2001
      funding formula for distributing funds to the community
20    college system. Expresses further legislative intent to
      address the funding formulas applicable to workforce
21    development conducted by community colleges.
