14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

15         On page 97, between lines 23 and 24,

17  insert:

18         Section 80.  Subsection (1) of section 401.252, Florida

19  Statutes, is amended to read:

20         401.252  Interfacility transfer.--

21         (1)  A licensed basic or advanced life support

22  ambulance service may conduct interfacility transfers in a

23  permitted ambulance, using a registered nurse or physician

24  assistant in place of an emergency medical technician or

25  paramedic, if:

26         (a)  The registered nurse or physician assistant holds

27  a current certificate of successful course completion in

28  advanced cardiac life support;

29         (b)  The physician in charge has granted permission for

30  such a transfer, has designated the level of service required

31  for such transfer, and has deemed the patient to be in such a

  1  condition appropriate to this type of ambulance staffing; and

  2         (c)  The registered nurse operates within the scope of

  3  part I of chapter 464,or the physician assistant operates

  5  chapter 459.
