1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to special assessments;
3 creating ss. 125.0168 and 166.223, F.S.;
4 providing the method for the levy of
5 assessments by counties and municipalities on
6 recreational vehicle parks; providing an
7 effective date.

9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11 Section 1. Section 125.0168, Florida Statutes, is
12 created to read:
13 125.0168 Special assessments levied on recreational
14 vehicle parks regulated under chapter 513.--When a county
15 levies a non-ad valorem special assessment on a recreational
16 vehicle park regulated under chapter 513, the non-ad valorem
17 special assessment shall not be based on the assertion that
18 the recreational vehicle park is comprised of residential
19 units. Instead, recreational vehicle parks regulated under
20 chapter 513 shall be assessed in the same manner as a hotel,
21 motel, or other similar facility.
22 Section 2. Section 166.223, Florida Statutes, is
23 created to read:
24 166.223 Special assessments levied on recreational
25 vehicle parks regulated under chapter 513.--When a
26 municipality levies a non-ad valorem special assessment on a
27 recreational vehicle park regulated under chapter 513, the
28 non-ad valorem special assessment shall not be based on the
29 assertion that the recreational vehicle park is comprised of
30 residential units. Instead, recreational vehicle parks

1 regulated under chapter 513 shall be assessed in the same
2 manner as a hotel, motel, or other similar facility.
3 Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
4 law.

9 The CS differs from the bill as filed as follows:
10 - the provisions in the bill apply only to recreational
vehicle parks; and

- the assessments referenced in the bill are specified as
12 non-ad valorem special assessments.
