  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to abuse, neglect, or

  3         exploitation of elderly persons or disabled

  4         adults; amending s. 775.15, F.S.; specifying a

  5         statute of limitations for abuse, aggravated

  6         abuse, or neglect of an elderly person or

  7         disabled adult; specifying a statute of

  8         limitations for exploitation of an elderly

  9         person or disabled adult; providing an

10         effective date.

12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

13

14         Section 1.  Paragraph (g) of subsection (2) of section

15  775.15, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

16         775.15  Time limitations.--

17         (2)  Except as otherwise provided in this section,

18  prosecutions for other offenses are subject to the following

19  periods of limitation:

20         (g)  A prosecution for a felony violation of s. 825.102

21  or s. 825.103 must be commenced within 5 4 years after it is

22  committed.

23         Section 2.  This act shall take effect October 1, 2002.
