13 Amendment (with title amendment)
14 On page 1, line 11, of the bill

16 insert after "must": ensure that the hydrant is installed in
17 compliance with the provisions of National Fire Protection
18 Association Standard 24, Standard for the Installation of
19 Private Fire Service Mains and Their Appurtenances, and is
20 inspected and maintained in compliance with the provisions of
21 National Fire Protection Association Standard 25, Standard for
22 the Inspection, Testing, and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire
23 Protection Systems, the edition currently adopted by the State
24 Fire Marshal pursuant to its code and standards adoption
25 authority in Chapter 633. A person who owns a private fire
26 hydrant must produce a valid and continuing maintenance
27 contract with a plumbing contractor licensed under Chapter
28 489, an underground utility contractor licensed under Chapter
29 489, or in the case the private hydrant is part of a fire
30 suppression system, a fire protection contractor licensed
31 under Chapter 633. Upon failure to produce a valid
