11  The Council for Healthy Communities offered the following:

13         Amendment to Amendment (973265) 

14         On page 2, lines 19-23, and on page 9, lines 11-15,

15  remove:  all of said lines

17  and insert:  (h)  "Direct supervision" means supervision by an

18  anesthesiologist who is present in the same room as the

19  anesthesiologist assistant, or in an immediately adjacent room

20  or hallway, such that the supervising anesthesiologist is able

21  to monitor the on-going anesthetic and be immediately

22  available to provide assistance and direction while anesthesia

23  services are being performed. Direct supervision requires the

24  supervising anesthesiologist to personally begin the patient's

25  pre-anesthetic assessment.
