14         On page 29, between lines 29 and 30, of the bill

15

16  insert:

17         Section 29.  Subsection (5) of section 106.08, Florida

18  Statutes, is reenacted and amended to read:

19         106.08  Contributions; limitations on.--

20         (5)(a)  A person may not make any contribution through

21  or in the name of another, directly or indirectly, in any

22  election.

23         (b)  Candidates, political committees, and political

24  parties may not solicit contributions from or make

25  contributions to any religious, charitable, civic, or other

26  causes or organizations established primarily for the public

27  good.

28         (c)  Candidates, political committees, and political

29  parties may not make contributions, in exchange for political

30  support, to any religious, charitable, civic, or other cause

31  or organization established primarily for the public good.

  1  However, It is not a violation of this paragraph subsection

  2  for:

  3         1.  A candidate, political committee, or political

  4  party executive committee to make gifts of money in lieu of

  5  flowers in memory of a deceased person; or for

  6         2.  A candidate to continue membership in, or make

  7  regular donations from personal or business funds to,

  8  religious, political party, civic, or charitable groups of

  9  which the candidate is a member or to which the candidate has

10  been a regular donor for more than 6 months; or.

11         3.  A candidate to may purchase, with campaign funds,

12  tickets, admission to events, or advertisements from

13  religious, civic, political party, or charitable groups.

17  And the title is amended as follows:

18         On page 3, line 28, after the semicolon,

19

20  insert:

21         reenacting and amending s. 106.08(5), F.S., to

22         clarify requirements for soliciting and

23         accepting charitable contributions and to

24         reenact a prohibition against indirect campaign

25         contributions; providing penalties;
