13         Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 832, between lines 12 and 13,

15

16  insert:

17         Section 893.  Subsection (2) of section 218.36, Florida

18  Statutes, is amended to read:

19         218.36  County officers; record and report of fees and

20  disposition of same.--

21         (2)  Effective October 1, 2002, On or before the date

22  for filing the annual report, the tax collector, sheriff,

23  supervisor of elections, and property appraiser each county

24  officer shall pay into the county general fund all money in

25  excess of the sum to which he or she is entitled under the

26  provisions of chapter 145. Whenever a tax collector has money

27  in excess, he or she shall distribute the excess to each

28  governmental unit in the same proportion as the fees paid by

29  the governmental unit bear to the total fee income of his or

30  her office.  Any excess held by a property appraiser shall be

31  divided into parts for each governmental unit which was billed

  1  and which paid for the operation of the property appraiser's

  2  office in the same proportion as the governmental units were

  3  originally billed.  Such part shall be an advance on the

  4  current year's bill, if any.
