13         Substitute Amendment for Amendment (951877) (with title

14  amendment) 

15         On page 15, between lines 9 and 10 of the bill

16

17  insert:  Section 12.  Subsection (6) is added to section

18  11.1465, Florida Statutes, to read:

19         11.1465  Services provided to Legislature.--The House

20  of Representatives and the Senate shall be independently

21  responsible for providing the following services to their

22  respective members and committees:

23         (6)  Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the

24  Florida Senate and the Florida House of Representatives shall

25  each be a proper party to, and the President of the Florida

26  Senate and the Speaker of the Florida House of Representatives

27  are authorized to expend funds to select and hire outside

28  counsel to represent the respective interests of each house

29  in, any litigation challenging any legislative or

30  congressional redistricting plan and to intervene on behalf of

31  each house in any action involving the validity or application

14         provided to the houses of the Legislature;
