11  Senator Latvala moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment 

14         On page 10, line 29, through

15            page 11, line 2, delete those lines

16

17  and insert:  in consultation with the Chief Financial Officer.

18  Pursuant to Art. IV, s. (6)(a) of the State Constitution,

19  before entering upon the duties of office, a director must be

20  confirmed by all three members of the Cabinet. At any time

21  after a director enters upon the duties of office, if the

22  Governor or any member of the Cabinet so requests, in writing,

23  for any reason, the Governor shall call for a vote, within 30

24  days, on whether the subject director will continue in office.

25  If a director fails to obtain the affirmative vote of a

26  majority of the Governor and Cabinet, the subject director is

27  removed from office, the office becomes vacant on the date

28  specified in the Governor's order, and the Governor shall

29  appoint a replacement director in the manner provided for in

30  this subsection.
