  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to Silver Springs and Rainbow

  3         Springs; permitting fishing from the shore of

  4         the Rainbow River; providing an effective date.

  6  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  7

  8         Section 1.  Section 372.27, Florida Statutes, is

  9  amended to read:

10         372.27  Silver Springs and Rainbow Springs, etc.,

11  closed to all fishing.--It is unlawful for any person to take

12  any fish within Marion County, from the waters of Rainbow

13  Springs and Rainbow River (formerly known as Blue Springs and

14  Blue Springs River) within a radius of 1 mile from the head of

15  Rainbow said Spring, except from the shore of the Rainbow

16  River, or from the waters of Silver Springs or Silver Springs

17  Run from the head of Silver Springs said spring to its

18  junction with the Oklawaha River. However, ; provided, that

19  the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission may remove or

20  cause to be removed any gar, mud fish, or other predatory fish

21  from either spring or river when in its judgment their removal

22  is desirable.

23         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2002.

27    Revising regulations relating to Rainbow Springs and
      Silver Springs, and their respective rivers, to allow
28    fishing from the shore of the Rainbow River.
