13         Amendment (with title amendment) 

14         On page 2, line 31, of the bill

15

16  insert:

17         Section 1.  Paragraph (d) of subsection (2) of section

18  121.052, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:

19         121.052  Membership class of elected officers.--

20         (2)  MEMBERSHIP.--The following holders of elective

21  office, hereinafter referred to as "elected officers," whether

22  assuming elective office by election, reelection, or

23  appointment, are members of the Elected Officers' Class,

24  except as provided in subsection (3):

25         (d)  Any constitutional county elected officer assuming

26  office on or after July 1, 1981, including any sheriff, tax

27  collector, property appraiser, supervisor of elections, clerk

28  of the circuit court, county commissioner, school board

29  member, or elected school board superintendent, or any elected

30  officer of any entity with countywide jurisdiction assuming

31  office on or after July 1, 1981, who, pursuant to general or

  1  special law, exercises powers and duties that, but for such

  2  general or special law, would be exercised by any of the

  3  constitutional county elected officers set forth in this

  4  paragraph, including the sheriff and clerk of the circuit

  5  court in a consolidated government with countywide

  6  jurisdiction unless such sheriff or clerk elected to continue

  7  to participate in a local retirement system.

12         On page 1, line 3, after the semicolon

14  insert:

15         amending s. 121.052, F.S.; revising the

16         membership requirements of the Elected

17         Officers' Class of the system to include

18         certain sheriffs and clerks of the circuit

19         court;
