1 A bill to be entitled
2 An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the
3 Juvenile Care and Maintenance Trust Fund within
4 the Department of Juvenile Justice without
5 modification; carrying forward current balances
6 and continuing current sources and uses
7 thereof; repealing s. 985.4042(3), F.S.,
8 relating to termination and review of the trust
9 fund, to conform; providing an effective date.

11 WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of
12 the Juvenile Care and Maintenance Trust Fund within the
13 Department of Juvenile Justice, which is otherwise scheduled
14 to be terminated pursuant to law, and
15 WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the trust fund
16 before its scheduled termination date and has found that it
17 continues to meet an important public purpose, and
18 WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public
19 policy concerning the trust fund sets adequate parameters for
20 its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

22 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

24 Section 1. (1) The Juvenile Care and Maintenance
25 Trust Fund within the Department of Juvenile Justice, which
26 has no FLAIR number and which is to be terminated on July 1,
27 2002, pursuant to section 985.4042(3), Florida Statutes, in
28 accordance with Section 19(f), Article III of the State
29 Constitution, is re-created.

1 (2) All current balances of the trust fund are carried
2 forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund
3 are continued.
4 Section 2. Subsection (3) of section 985.4042, Florida
5 Statutes, is repealed.
6 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2002.
