  2         An act relating to trust funds; re-creating the

  3         Federal Law Enforcement Trust Fund within the

  4         Department of Military Affairs without

  5         modification; carrying forward current balances

  6         and continuing current sources and uses

  7         thereof; repealing s. 250.175(3), F.S., which

  8         terminates the trust fund on July 1, 2002;

  9         providing an effective date.

11         WHEREAS, the Legislature wishes to extend the life of

12  the Federal Law Enforcement Trust Fund within the Department

13  of Military Affairs, which is otherwise scheduled to be

14  terminated pursuant to constitutional mandate, and

15         WHEREAS, the Legislature has reviewed the trust fund

16  before its scheduled termination date and has found that it

17  continues to meet an important public purpose, and

18         WHEREAS, the Legislature has found that existing public

19  policy concerning the trust fund sets adequate parameters for

20  its use, NOW, THEREFORE,

22  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

23

24         Section 1.  (1)  The Federal Law Enforcement Trust Fund

25  within the Department of Military Affairs, FLAIR number

26  62-2-719, which is to be terminated pursuant to Section 19(f),

27  Article III of the State Constitution on July 1, 2002, is

28  re-created.

29         (2)  All current balances of the trust fund are carried

30  forward, and all current sources and uses of the trust fund

31  are continued.

  1         Section 2.  Subsection (3) of section 250.175(3), F.S.,

  2  is repealed.

  3         Section 3.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2002.
