  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution commending the osteopathic

  3         physicians of this state and recognizing

  4         January 31, 2002, as Osteopathic Medicine Day.

  5

  6         WHEREAS, osteopathic physicians provide health care

  7  services that account for more than 100 million patient visits

  8  in this country each year, and

  9         WHEREAS, this state has ten accredited osteopathic

10  hospitals, an osteopathic medical college, and the fourth

11  largest osteopathic physician population in the United States,

12  and

13         WHEREAS, osteopathic physicians provide comprehensive

14  medical care, including preventive medicine, diagnoses, and

15  the appropriate use of drugs, surgery, manipulation, and

16  hospital referrals, NOW, THEREFORE,

17

18  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

19  Florida:

20

21         That the House of Representatives commends the

22  osteopathic physicians of this state for their contributions

23  to the health and welfare of the residents of this state and

24  recognizes January 31, 2002, as Osteopathic Medicine Day.
