2 A resolution honoring the Phi Theta Kappa 2002
3 All-Florida Academic Team members.

5 WHEREAS, March 7, 2002, "Florida Phi Theta Kappa Day,"
6 is an appropriate time for the Legislature of the State of
7 Florida to recognize and salute Phi Theta Kappa, the esteemed
8 international honor society for community and junior colleges,
9 and
10 WHEREAS, special commendations should be extended to
11 the outstanding scholars who comprise the 2002 All-Florida
12 Academic Team, a team of highly successful community college
13 students assembled by the Florida Community College System,
14 and
15 WHEREAS, 125 students from 28 of Florida's community
16 colleges were named to the 2002 All-Florida Academic Team, and
17 WHEREAS, based on the national ranking of these
18 students in the All-USA Academic Team competition sponsored by
19 USA Today and Phi Theta Kappa, which is recognized
20 internationally, nationally, and in the State of Florida as
21 the primary community college organization for the recognition
22 of academic achievement, leadership, and service to the
23 community, the following students comprise the 2002
24 All-Florida Academic Teams:

7 Florida and of the citizenry of this state, NOW, THEREFORE,

9 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

12 That the House of Representatives hereby honors and
13 congratulates Phi Theta Kappa, the Florida Community College
14 System, and the members of the 2002 All-Florida Academic Team
15 and commends the team members' outstanding competitive spirit
