2 A resolution recognizing March 2002 as Women's
3 History Month.

5 WHEREAS, since the birthing of our nation, women from
6 every walk of life have played a vital albeit many times
7 silent and invisible role in its establishment and growth, and
8 WHEREAS, women have been active as leaders in every
9 major social change, in those pertaining to their own rights
10 of suffrage and equal opportunity, in those efforts that have
11 brought about abolition and emancipation, in the labor and
12 civil rights movements, and in promoting world peace and
13 environmental protection, and
14 WHEREAS, women have made priceless contributions in the
15 areas of the health, education, and welfare of the nation's
16 people, and
17 WHEREAS, all too often, the involvement of American
18 women in the movements and events that have contributed toward
19 the unprecedented quality of life enjoyed by the people of the
20 United States has been overlooked and undervalued, and
21 WHEREAS, Governor Jeb Bush has proclaimed March 2002 as
22 Women's History Month in Florida, NOW, THEREFORE,

24 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of
25 Florida:

27 That the House of Representatives most gladly
28 recognizes March 2002 as Women's History Month and joins with
29 the Governor in urging all Floridians to take advantage of
30 this unique opportunity to take note of the superlative
