  1                         House Resolution

  2         A resolution acknowledging and honoring the

  3         efforts of "Friends of our Nation's Heroes."

  4

  5         WHEREAS, a nonprofit organization known as "Friends of

  6  our Nation's Heroes" was created during Operation Desert

  7  Storm, and

  8         WHEREAS, the intent of this Florida-based organization

  9  is to honor all of the men and women of our nation's armed

10  services, past, present, and future, through the placement of

11  a memorial in each of the fifty states, and

12         WHEREAS, the organization disseminates a compelling

13  message that we should never forget the protectors of our

14  nation's freedoms, and

15         WHEREAS, "Friends of our Nation's Heroes" serves a

16  laudable purpose in reminding Americans that many of our own

17  have sacrificed life and limb for the cause of liberty, and

18         WHEREAS, the endeavor of the organization to honor the

19  men and women who have served, are serving, or will serve in

20  the United States Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard,

21  and Merchant Marines is a most noble enterprise, and

22         WHEREAS, "Friends of our Nation's Heroes" has launched

23  an effort to engage churches, civic organizations,

24  governmental entities, and all who revere our military to join

25  in the effort to honor the men and women who have served or

26  will serve, and

27         WHEREAS, the endeavor of the organization to pay

28  tribute to America's bravest heroes is worthy of widespread

29  support and such commendable efforts should be encouraged,

30  NOW, THEREFORE,

  1  Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of

  2  Florida:

  3

  4         That the House of Representatives acknowledges and

  5  honors the efforts of "Friends of our Nation's Heroes" to pay

  6  well-deserved tribute to all of America's armed services

  7  veterans, past, present, and future.

  8         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution

  9  be presented to Shelby Dew, Founder and Chairman of "Friends

10  of our Nation's Heroes," as a tangible token of the sentiments

11  expressed herein.
