11  Senator Brown-Waite moved the following amendment to amendment

14         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 

15         On page 85, between lines 14 and 15,

17  insert:

18         Section 27.  The Office of Legislative Services shall

19  contract for a business case study of the feasibility of

20  outsourcing the administrative, investigative, legal, and

21  prosecutorial functions and other tasks and services that are

22  necessary to carry out the regulatory responsibilities of the

23  Board of Dentistry, employing its own executive director and

24  other staff, and obtaining authority over collections and

25  expenditures of funds paid by professions regulated by the

26  board into the Medical Quality Assurance Trust Fund. This

27  feasibility study must include a business plan and an

28  assessment of the direct and indirect costs associated with

29  outsourcing these functions. The sum of $50,000 is

30  appropriated from the Board of Dentistry account within the

31  Medical Quality Assurance Trust Fund to the Office of

  1  Legislative Services for the purpose of contracting for the
