11  Senator Cowin moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment 
14         On page 476, lines 4 through 7, delete those lines
15  
16  and insert:  corporation by a board of directors. Upon
17  termination of the current terms of the members of the board
18  of directors serving as of January 7, 2003, however no later
19  than July 1, 2007, the President of the University of Florida,
20  and the chairperson of the State Board of Education, or his or
21  her designee, shall be directors of the not-for-profit
22  corporation, together with 5 representatives of the state
23  universities and no more than 14 nor fewer than 10 directors
24  who are not state employees.  Each director shall serve a term
25  of 3 years, and may be reelected to the board.  Other than the
26  President of the University of Florida and the chairperson of
27  the State Board of Education, directors shall be elected by a
28  majority vote of the board.  The chairperson of the board of
29  directors shall be selected by majority vote of the directors.
