17 Section 1063. Paragraph (d) of subsection (2) of
18 section 11.45, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
19 11.45 Definitions; duties; authorities; reports;
20 rules.--
21 (2) DUTIES.--The Auditor General shall:
22 (d) Annually conduct financial audits of the accounts
23 and records of all district school boards in counties with
24 populations of fewer than 150,000 125,000, according to the
25 most recent federal decennial statewide census.

27 The Auditor General shall perform his or her duties
28 independently but under the general policies established by
29 the Legislative Auditing Committee. This subsection does not
30 limit the Auditor General's discretionary authority to conduct
31 other audits or engagements of governmental entities as
