13 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
14 On page 28, line 23, through
15 page 30, line 24, delete those lines
16
17 and insert:
18 Section 18. Paragraph (c) of subsection (2) of section
19 322.08, Florida Statutes, is amended, and paragraph (f) is
20 added to subsection (6) of said section, to read:
21 322.08 Application for license.--
22 (2) Each such application shall include the following
23 information regarding the applicant:
24 (c) Proof of identity satisfactory to the department.
25 Such proof must include one of the following documents issued
26 to the applicant:
27 1. A driver's license record or identification card
28 record from another jurisdiction that required the applicant
29 to submit a document for identification which is substantially
30 similar to a document required under subparagraph 2.,
31 subparagraph 3., subparagraph 4., subparagraph 5., or

1 subparagraph 6., or subparagraph 7.;
2 2. A certified copy of a United States birth
3 certificate;
4 3. A valid United States passport;
5 4. A naturalization certificate issued by the United
6 States Department of Justice;
7 5.4. An alien registration receipt card (green card);
8 6.5. An employment authorization card issued by the
9 United States Department of Justice; or
10 7.6. Proof of nonimmigrant classification provided by
11 the United States Department of Justice, for an original
12 driver's license. In order to prove nonimmigrant
13 classification, an applicant may produce, but is not limited
14 to, the following documents:
15 a. A notice of hearing from an immigration court
16 scheduling a hearing on any proceeding.
17 b. A notice from the Board of Immigration Appeals
18 acknowledging pendency of an appeal.
19 c. Notice of the approval of an application for
20 adjustment of status issued by the United States Immigration
21 and Naturalization Service.
22 d. Any official documentation confirming the filing of
23 a petition for asylum status or any other relief issued by the
24 United States Immigration and Naturalization Service.
25 e. Notice of action transferring any pending matter
26 from another jurisdiction to Florida, issued by the United
27 States Immigration and Naturalization Service.
28 f. An order of an immigration judge or immigration
29 officer granting any relief that authorizes the alien to live
30 and work in the United States, including, but not limited to,
31 asylum.

1 Presentation of any documents in subparagraph 6. or
2 subparagraph 7. entitles the applicant to a driver' s license
3 or temporary permit for a period not to exceed the expiration
4 date of the document presented or 2 years, whichever occurs
5 first.
6 (6) The application form for a driver's license or
7 duplicate thereof shall include language permitting the
8 following:
9 (f) A voluntary contribution of $1 per applicant,
10 which shall be distributed to the Children's Hearing Help Fund
11 for the purpose of providing assistance to children who have
12 been identified as having hearing loss.

14 A statement providing an explanation of the purpose of
15 the trust funds shall also be included.
