16	Brevard and Osceola Counties; designating the John S.
17	"Steve" Dennard Bridge in Bradford and Union Counties;
18	designating Ed Fraser Memorial Highway in Baker County;
19	designating Deputy Renee Danell Azure Memorial Highway in
20	Union County; designating Correctional Officers Memorial
21	Highway in Bradford and Union Counties; designating
22	Trooper Charles W. Parks Memorial Highway in Nassau
23	County; designating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive in
24	Orange County; designating Veterans Memorial Highway in
25	Flagler County; designating Upchurch Memorial Highway in
26	St. Johns County; designating Kelley Smith Highway in St.
27	Johns and Putnam Counties; directing the Department of
28	Transportation to erect suitable markers; providing an
29	effective date.

31	WHEREAS, the State of Florida, through the Florida
32	Department of Transportation, is currently reconstructing or
33	building three bridges on U.S. Highway 1, between the Cities of
34	New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange, and
35	WHEREAS, the Cities of New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange
36	have passed resolutions urging the State of Florida to dedicate
37	these new bridges in honor of United States military personnel
38	who are prisoners of war (POW's) or who are missing in action
39	(MIA's), and
40	WHEREAS, the Volusia County Metropolitan Planning
41	Organization believes that it is appropriate to so dedicate the
42	new Rose Bay bridges and supports the Cities of New Smyrna Beach
43	and Port Orange in their efforts to do so, NOW, THEREFORE,
44
45	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
46
47	Section 1. Dedication to prisoners of war and those who
48	are missing in action; designation markers.--
49	(1) The new Rose Bay bridges on U.S. Highway 1 between the
50	Cities of New Smyrna Beach and Port Orange are dedicated in
51	honor of United States military personnel who are prisoners of
52	war (POW's) or who are missing in action (MIA's).
53	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
54	suitable markers designating the dedication in honor of POW's
55	and MIA's as described in subsection (1).
56	Section 2. Ramon Puig Way designated; department to erect
57	suitable markers.--
58	(1) That portion of S.W. 8th Street between 60th Avenue
59	and 57th Avenue in Miami-Dade County is hereby designated as
60	"Ramon Puig Way."
61	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
62	suitable markers designating Ramon Puig Way as described in
63	subsection (1).
64	Section 3. Howard Futch Memorial Highway designated;
65	department to erect suitable markers.--
66	(1) That portion of U.S. Highway 192 between Interstate 95
67	in Brevard County and the eastern city limits of St. Cloud in
68	Osceola County is designated as "Howard Futch Memorial Highway."
69	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
70	suitable markers designating Howard Futch Memorial Highway as
71	described in subsection (1).
72	Section 4. John S. "Steve" Dennard Bridge designated;
73	department to erect suitable markers.--
74	(1) The New River Bridge (bridge number 390031) on State
75	Road 16 in Bradford and Union Counties is designated as the
76	"John S. 'Steve' Dennard Bridge."
77	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
78	suitable markers designating the John S. "Steve" Dennard Bridge
79	as described in subsection (1).
80	Section 5. Ed Fraser Memorial Highway designated;
81	department to erect suitable markers.--
82	(1) That portion of State Road 121 in Baker County between
83	the border at the State of Georgia and the border at Union
84	County is designated as "Ed Fraser Memorial Highway."
85	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
86	suitable markers designating Ed Fraser Memorial Highway as
87	described in subsection (1).
88	Section 6. Deputy Renee Danell Azure Memorial Highway
89	designated; department to erect suitable markers.--
90	(1) That portion of State Road 121 in Union County between
91	the border at Baker County and the city limits of the City of
92	Lake Butler is designated as "Deputy Renee Danell Azure Memorial
93	Highway."
94	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
95	suitable markers designating Deputy Renee Danell Azure Memorial
96	Highway as described in subsection (1).
97	Section 7. Correctional Officers Memorial Highway
98	designated; department to erect suitable markers.--
99	(1) That portion of State Road 16 between the northwestern
100	city limits of Starke in Bradford County and State Road 121 in
101	Union County is designated as "Correctional Officers Memorial
102	Highway."
103	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
104	suitable markers designating Correctional Officers Memorial
105	Highway as described in subsection (1).
106	Section 8. Trooper Charles W. Parks Memorial Highway
107	designated; department to erect suitable markers.--
108	(1) That portion of Interstate 95 in Nassau County is
109	designated as "Trooper Charles W. Parks Memorial Highway."
110	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
111	suitable markers designating Trooper Charles W. Parks Memorial
112	Highway as described in subsection (1).
113	Section 9. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive designated;
114	department to erect suitable markers.--
115	(1) That portion of State Road 50 between Ocoee and State
116	Road 436 in Orange County is designated as "Dr. Martin Luther
117	King, Jr., Drive."
118	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
119	suitable markers designating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Drive
120	as described in subsection (1).
121	Section 10. Veterans Memorial Highway designated;
122	department to erect suitable markers.-–
123	(1) That portion of State Road 100 in Flagler County
124	between the western city limits of the Town of Flagler Beach and
125	the eastern city limits of the Town of Bunnell is designated as
126	"Veterans Memorial Highway."
127	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
128	suitable markers designating Veterans Memorial Highway as
129	described in subsection (1).
130	Section 11. Upchurch Memorial Highway designated;
131	department to erect suitable markers.--
132	(1) That portion of State Road 207 in St. Johns County
133	between the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and the eastern city
134	limits of the Town of Hastings is designated as "Upchurch
135	Memorial Highway."
136	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
137	suitable markers designating Upchurch Memorial Highway as
138	described in subsection (1).
139	Section 12. Kelley Smith Highway designated; department to
140	erect suitable markers.--
141	(1) That portion of State Road 207 between the eastern
142	city limits of the Town of Hastings in St. Johns County and the
143	intersection at U.S. Highway 17 in Putnam County is designated
144	as "Kelley Smith Highway."
145	(2) The Department of Transportation is directed to erect
146	suitable markers designating Kelley Smith Highway as described
147	in subsection (1).
148	Section 13. This act shall take effect upon becoming a
149	law.
