14 On page 61, between lines 8 and 9,

16 insert:
17 Section 30. Subsection (1) of section 25.073, Florida
18 Statutes, is amended to read:
19 25.073 Retired justices or judges assigned to
20 temporary duty; additional compensation; appropriation.--
21 (1) For purposes of this section, the term "retired
22 justice" or "retired judge" means any former justice or judge
23 who:
24 (a) Has not been defeated in seeking reelection to, or
25 has not failed to be retained in seeking retention in, his or
26 her last judicial office or was not defeated when last seeking
27 election to judicial office; and
28 (b) Is not engaged in the practice of law.
