11  Senator Alexander moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment (with title amendment) 
14         On page 29, lines 4-19, delete those lines
15  
16  and insert:  Investigations Unit dedicated to the prevention
17  of insurance fraud; $2 per policy to the Division of Insurance
18  Fraud of the Department of Financial Services, which shall be
19  dedicated to the prevention and detection of motor vehicle
20  insurance fraud; $2 per policy to be remitted to the
21  Department of Legal Affairs which shall remit such funds to
22  the state attorneys in each judicial circuit, in proportion to
23  the population of each judicial circuit, which shall be
24  dedicated to the prosecution of motor vehicle insurance fraud;
25  and $1 per policy to the Office of Statewide Prosecution,
26  which shall be dedicated to the prosecution of motor vehicle
27  insurance fraud. Any insurer that writes directly without a
28  managing general agent and that charges a per policy fee shall
29  charge an additional policy fee at a minimum of $5 per policy
30  to fund its Special Investigations Unit dedicated to the
31  prevention of insurance fraud; $2 per policy to the Division
