  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to the exploitation of elderly

  3         persons or disabled adults; requiring the

  4         Department of Law Enforcement to establish an

  5         Internet website that lists identifying

  6         information concerning offenders having two or

  7         more convictions for exploiting an elderly

  8         person or disabled adult; providing for the

  9         department to remove the information following

10         the offender's death or after a specified

11         period; providing an effective date.

13  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

15         Section 1.  Internet website to post repeat offenders

16  of crimes against the elderly or disabled.--The Department of

17  Law Enforcement shall establish an Internet website that lists

18  the name, alias, photograph, and last known address of each

19  person convicted of two or more violations of section 825.103,

20  Florida Statutes, relating to the exploitation of an elderly

21  person or disabled adult. The Internet website shall be

22  available to the public free of charge. The department shall

23  remove the name of and identifying information concerning an

24  offender from the website when the offender dies or 20 years

25  following the date of the offender's latest conviction,

26  whichever occurs earlier.

27         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2003.

  3    Requires the Department of Law Enforcement to establish
      an Internet website that is free to the public and that
  4    identifies offenders who have been convicted two or more
      times of exploiting an elderly person or disabled adult.
  5    Directs the department to remove the information from the
      website following the offender's death or after 20 years,
  6    whichever occurs earlier.
