11  Senator Alexander moved the following amendment:

13         Senate Amendment 
14         On page 26, lines 3-13, delete those lines
15  
16  and insert:  
17         (2)  Upon completion of the study, the department shall
18  prepare and adopt a resource management plan for the Peace
19  River Basin to minimize any identified existing and future
20  adverse cumulative impacts to water resources of the basin,
21  including surface waters, groundwaters, wetlands, fisheries,
22  aquatic and estuarine habitat, and water supplies. The plan
23  shall identify regulatory and nonregulatory actions necessary
24  to minimize existing and future adverse cumulative impacts
25  identified in the study and where appropriate, shall also
26  recommend statutory changes to improve regulatory programs to
27  minimize identified cumulative impacts to water resources of
28  the basin.
