| 4 | persons who plead guilty or nolo contendere to, or who are | ||
| 5 | found guilty of, certain crimes against minors; requiring | ||
| 6 | the clerk of the court to deposit the proceeds of the | ||
| 7 | court cost into the State Treasury for deposit into a | ||
| 8 | specified trust fund to be used to fund children's | ||
| 9 | advocacy centers; requiring the clerk of the court to | ||
| 10 | retain a portion of the court cost as a service charge; | ||
| 11 | providing an effective date. | ||

| 13 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: | ||
| 14 | |||
| 15 | Section 1. Section 938.10, Florida Statutes, is created to | ||
| 16 | read: | ||
| 17 | 938.10 Additional court cost imposed in cases of certain | ||
| 18 | crimes against minors.-- | ||
| 19 | (1) If a person pleads guilty or nolo contendere to, or is | ||
| 20 | found guilty of, regardless of adjudication, any offense against | ||
| 21 | a minor in violation of s. 784.085, chapter 787, chapter 794, s. | ||
| 22 | 796.03, s. 800.04, chapter 827, s. 847.0145, or s. 985.4045, the | ||
| 23 | court shall impose a court cost of $101 against the offender in | ||
| 24 | addition to any other cost or penalty required by law. | ||
| 25 | (2) Each month the clerk of the court shall transfer the | ||
| 26 | proceeds of the court cost, less $1 from each sum collected, | ||
| 27 | which the clerk shall retain as a service charge, to the State | ||
| 28 | Treasury for deposit into the Child Advocacy Trust Fund for | ||
| 29 | disbursement to child advocacy centers that are members of the | ||
| 30 | Florida Network of Children's Advocacy Centers, Inc. | ||
| 31 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003. | ||
