  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act calling a special election for the

  3         approval or rejection by the electors of a

  4         joint resolution relating to filling a vacancy

  5         in the office of Lieutenant Governor; providing

  6         an effective date.

  8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

  9

10         Section 1.  Under Section 5 of Article XI of the State

11  Constitution, there shall be a special election on November 4,

12  2003, at which there shall be submitted to the electors of

13  this state for approval or rejection Senate Joint Resolution

14  No. ___, relating to the filling of a vacancy in the office of

15  Lieutenant Governor.

16         Section 2.  Publication of notice shall be in

17  accordance with Section 5 of Article XI of the State

18  Constitution. The special election shall be held as other

19  special elections are held.

20         Section 3.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

21  law, but only if it is enacted by the affirmative vote of

22  three-fourths of the membership of each house of the

23  Legislature.

27    Provides for a special election to be conducted on
      November 4, 2003, to submit to the electors a proposed
28    constitutional revision providing for the filling of a
