1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to the Department of Transportation
3	SunPass program; amending s. 320.02, F.S.; providing for
4	the purchase of a SunPass transponder and enrollment in
5	the SunPass program at the time of registration or renewal
6	thereof; providing conditions of the sale; requiring that
7	the application form for motor vehicle registration and
8	renewal of registration must include language permitting
9	purchase; requiring that such purchase be available in
10	every county with a toll road; providing for a specified
11	fee to be paid by the state to the motor vehicle
12	registration agency for the sale; providing an effective
13	date.

15	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

17	Section 1. Subsection (18) is added to section 320.02,
18	Florida Statutes, to read:
19	320.02 Registration required; application for
20	registration; forms.--
21	(18) In every county containing a toll road, the
22	application form for motor vehicle registration and renewal of
23	registration must include language permitting the voluntary
24	purchase of a SunPass Transponder. For each transponder sold
25	through a motor vehicle registration agency at the time of
26	vehicle registration or renewal, there shall be a $10 discount
27	on the purchase and a $10 SunPass account credit to those who
28	enroll in the SunPass program. Motor vehicle registration
29	agencies shall receive a transaction fee of $2 from the state
30	for each transponder sold under this program.
31	Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003.
