1	A bill to be entitled
2	An act relating to public safety; providing for an annual
3	salary adjustment for certified law enforcement officers;
4	providing an effective date.

6	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

8	Section 1. Each certified law enforcement officer who has
9	a performance rating of satisfactory or better, or the
10	equivalent, and who is represented by the law enforcement
11	bargaining unit shall receive an annual salary increase equal to
12	the greater of one step (on the basis of the 1996 step pay plan)
13	or 2.1 percent, paid pursuant to the employee's collective
14	bargaining agreement.
15	Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003.
