14 On page 19, line 8, delete that line

16 and insert:
17 Section 14. Effective October 1, 203, subsection (2)
18 of section 218.36, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
19 218.36 County officers; record and report of fees and
20 disposition of same.--
21 (2) On or before the date for filing the annual
22 report, the tax collector, sheriff, supervisor of elections,
23 and property appraiser each county officer shall pay into the
24 county general fund all money in excess of the sum to which he
25 or she is entitled under the provisions of chapter 145.
26 Whenever a tax collector has money in excess, he or she shall
27 distribute the excess to each governmental unit in the same
28 proportion as the fees paid by the governmental unit bear to
29 the total fee income of his or her office. Any excess held by
30 a property appraiser shall be divided into parts for each
31 governmental unit which was billed and which paid for the

1 operation of the property appraiser's office in the same
2 proportion as the governmental units were originally billed.
3 Such part shall be an advance on the current year's bill, if
4 any.
5 Section 15. Except as otherwise expressly provided in
6 this act, this act shall take effect July 1, 2003.

13 insert:
14 amending s. 218.36, F.S.; providing that
15 specified county officers pay into the county
16 general fund all money in excess of that
