2	An act relating to the Florida Keys Mosquito Control
3	District, Monroe County; amending chapter 2002-346, Laws
4	of Florida; authorizing the district to make purchases up
5	to the limit in s. 287.017(1)(a), F.S., without formal
6	bids; providing an effective date.

8	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10	Section 1. Section 14 of chapter 2002-346, Laws of
11	Florida, is amended to read:
12	Section 14. Director; advertisement of contracts.--All
13	work done under the provisions of this act, both in construction
14	and maintenance, shall be carried on under the supervision of a
15	competent entomologist, or person qualified under the provisions
16	of chapter 388, Florida Statutes, to be employed by the board.
17	The board may contract and purchase property or equipment
18	without formal bids in any amount not to exceed the limit set
19	forth in section 287.017(1)(a), Florida Statutes, as it may be
20	amended from time to time$4,000. All contracts or purchases in
21	excess of this limit$4,000shall be by competitive, sealed
22	bids, after advertisement, pursuant to rules and regulations
23	established by the board. In the event section 287.017(1)(a),
24	Florida Statutes, is repealed and its provisions are not
25	recodified elsewhere in the Florida Statutes, the limit in
26	effect prior to the repeal shall apply to the district.
27	Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
