  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to credit reports; requiring

  3         consumer reporting agencies to provide a copy

  4         of a consumer report to a person in his or her

  5         birth month under certain circumstances;

  6         requiring report explanations; providing an

  7         effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11         Section 1.  Any consumer reporting agency, as defined

12  in s. 603(f) of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, shall provide

13  to any person, free of charge and without regard to any

14  failure to extend credit to that person, a consumer report in

15  the month of his or her birth including explanations of the

16  codes contained in such report if such agency has released

17  that individual's credit information to any entity doing

18  business in this state within the previous calendar year.

19         Section 2.  This act shall take effect upon becoming a

20  law.
