Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |

Section 1. Welfare Transition Trust Fund within the |
12
|
Department of Military Affairs.--
|

|
(1) There is created the Welfare Transition Trust Fund |
14
|
within the Department of Military Affairs for the purpose of |
15
|
supporting the welfare transition program, transition services, |
16
|
and support services. Funds shall be credited to the trust fund |
17
|
from federal Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF) block |
18
|
grants. Funds budgeted for the welfare transition program may be |
19
|
appropriated to the trust fund for implementation of welfare |
20
|
transition services. |

(2) Notwithstanding s. 216.301, Florida Statutes, and |
22
|
pursuant to s. 216.351, Florida Statutes, any undisbursed |
23
|
balance remaining in the trust fund and interest accruing to the |
24
|
trust fund not distributed at the end of the fiscal year shall |
25
|
remain in the trust fund and shall increase the total funds |
26
|
available to implement the welfare transition program.

(3) Pursuant to the provisions of s. 19(f)(2), Art. III of |
28
|
the State Constitution, the trust fund shall, unless terminated |
29
|
sooner, be terminated on July 1, 2007. Prior to its scheduled |
30
|
termination, the trust fund shall be reviewed as provided in s. |
31
|
215.3206, Florida Statutes.

Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2003. |
