  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to school personnel; creating

  3         s. 1012.47, F.S.; requiring certain personnel

  4         in an alternative school that operates under

  5         contract with a district school system to file

  6         a set of fingerprints; requiring personnel to

  7         be subject to state and federal rules and

  8         regulations; providing an effective date.

10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

11  

12         Section 1.  Section 1012.47, Florida Statutes, is

13  created to read:

14         1012.47  Employment of alternative school

15  personnel.--All instructional and noninstructional personnel

16  who are hired to fill positions requiring direct contact with

17  students in an alternative school that operates under contract

18  with a district school system shall, upon employment and

19  according to conditions of the contract, file a complete set

20  of fingerprints as required in s. 1012.32. Such personnel

21  shall be subject to state and federal rules and regulations

22  that govern public school personnel.

23         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2003.
