Remove everything after the enacting clause, and insert: |

Section 1. A task force is created to study and report on |
17
|
the feasibility and efficiency of combining the Office of |
18
|
Program Policy Analysis and Government Accountability and the |
19
|
Office of the Auditor General into an Office of Government |
20
|
Accountability. Members of the task force shall include three |
21
|
members of the House of Representatives, three members of the |
22
|
Senate, and the Auditor General as an ex officio member. The |
23
|
minority leaders of the House of Representatives and the Senate |
24
|
shall each appoint one member to the task force. The study shall |
25
|
include a cost analysis, a report on the feasibility of |
26
|
combining auditing and policy analysis within a single office, |
27
|
and a plan specifying costs that are currently duplicated or |
28
|
unnecessary. A final report shall be submitted to the Speaker of |
29
|
the House of Representatives and the President of the Senate by |
30
|
February 29, 2004.

Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. |
