  1                      A bill to be entitled

  2         An act relating to child care facilities;

  3         amending s. 402.305, F.S.; requiring child care

  4         facilities and private and nonpublic schools

  5         within 10 miles of a nuclear power plant to

  6         develop and maintain emergency evacuation

  7         plans; providing an effective date.

  9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

10  

11         Section 1.  Paragraph (d) is added to subsection (7) of

12  section 402.305, Florida Statutes, to read:

13         402.305  Licensing standards; child care facilities.--

14         (7)  SANITATION AND SAFETY.--

15         (d)  Each child care facility or private or nonpublic

16  school within the 10-mile emergency planning zone of a nuclear

17  power plant shall establish an emergency management and

18  emergency preparedness plan.  Such plan must include effective

19  protective actions, transportation resources and routes,

20  relocation centers, procedures for the receipt and

21  dissemination of emergency information, and methods for

22  notifying parents and guardians of the status and location of

23  their children.

24         Section 2.  This act shall take effect July 1, 2003.
